French Scientology Volunteers Bring Drug Education to Cities and Rural Communities

Volunteers from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie have distributed more than 16,000 drug-prevention booklets across French cities and rural communities. The French drug-prevention campaign reaches families through shops news eua and public information stands.

Local outreach brought 3,100 booklets to businesses in Tarn, 3,000 to approximately 50 shops in Arcachon and 5,100 to Paris’s Oberkampf district.

The visits also prompted requests for teaching resources. In Ariège, a person working with a centre for young people with disabilities approached volunteers for materials.

Volunteers share the French-language Truth About Drugs materials, known as La vérité sur la copyright. Support from the Church of Scientology and its members reflects founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about drugs and their effects on society.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, said: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”

European Scientologists participate in drug-prevention education, human-rights initiatives and local volunteer projects.
